BattleBorn's Super Shuffle!S

DISCLAIMER: In no way will this be super.

I know there has been another music post today(Technically yesterday, as it's 12:30 am here now :P), which has an interesting topic by the way, you should take a look if you haven't yet. I just felt that I should make some sort of post soon in light of today's debacle. There has probably been a post like this already, but it's the best I could come up with in short notice, and hey, if it's popular I might make it a weekly thing. Lets start, shall we?

Today, I want to play a game. Go to your iTunes or your Spotify or whatever you use to listen to your music. Put it in shuffle. I want everyone to post the first 3-5 songs that come up and give a little description of why you like it and maybe a story about how you discovered this song and what it means to you. I'll go first!

Jim Croce - I Got a Name:

Well I owe knowing this song to my favourite movie of the year Django Unchained. I absolutely loved the film, Quentin Tarantino is my favourite director. Anyway, I was watching this film and one of the things that striked me the most about this film was it's amazing soundtrack, which managed to fit in perfectly with the film, be it a modern rap or a country song from the 70's. From the entire soundtrack, this song is my favourite.

She & Him - Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want:

Another soundtrack song, from the delightful '(500) Days of Summer'. When I first watched this film, I wasn't expecting much, I only wanted to watch it because Zooey Deschanel was in it. If there is something with Zooey Deschanel in it, I'll watch it or listen to it. She's my Tom Hiddleston. I was pleasantly surprised about how good the movie actually was, it managed to tell one of the world's oldest stories, falling in love, in an innovative way. I was once again captured by the soundtrack, with Zooey Deschanels band She & Him covering a classic from The Smiths, it's my favourite version of this track, I even like it more than Muse's version!

Arctic Monkeys - Reckless Serenade:

From the Album, 'Suck It and See'. Terrible album name. Alright song. It's not my favourite on the album, but it's got it's own charm. It's nice short song, and I find it relaxing. The guitar riff is enjoyable. It's a great summer song, along with the majority of Arctic Monkeys other songs.

Bon Iver - Calgary:

One of my favourite songs of all time. It's just beautiful, sure it took me a while to actually understand what he's saying, but I feel as though the actual music is where the songs is so incredible. Seriously, I could go into an entire essay of reasons why I love this song, when I heard this live, I couldn't handle it. I almost broke down. I could go into a full blown essay as to why this song and the album is so great, but there's another song to be had here, so moving on!

Miles Kane - Don't Forget Who You Are:

My favourite song at the minute, if you're a fan of Arctic Monkeys, you might like this. Him and Alex Turner are like besties, they had a band together. This song is definitely one of the best songs to make you feel good. Even though it's only a few weeks old, it has definitely meant a lot to me. I haven't been in the greatest mood for the past 2 weeks or so, but listening to the song, especially the lyrics, has made me feel much better now. It taught me a valuable lesson, don't forget who you are.

Those were my five shuffled songs, which I'm quite happy with, I have a few songs that would embarrass me if they came up! Feel free to share your 5 songs or even comment on how I've got a terrible taste in music. :P

EDIT: thanks everyone for the response, I guess this will be a weekly thing! I feel my body shutting down so I'll have to hit the hay now. I'll give them all a listen as soon as I wake up, pinky swear! That'll teach me publishing a post in the middle night. :P

Once you're done here, why don't you head on over to Tayclassic? Where the conversations are aplenty and the good times are unlimited.
