Challenger Approaching: The Crown Prince

"When the chosen boy reaches the point, he will find light. The passing of time will shatter the nightmare rock and it will reveal the path of light." You see, it is in my opinion that Challenger Approaching is that boy, Ness.

In honor of EarthBound finally making its way onto the Nintendo virtual console I felt it was only right to feature a character from said series. Who in the world could it be? As I know many folks are playing EarthBound for the first time I'll go ahead and admit that there may be some *SLIGHT SPOILERS* as far as plot is concerned, but I'll do my best to keep it to a minimum. Prepare your body for...

Challenger Approaching: The Crown PrinceS

Name: Poo

Notable Appearance: EarthBound (SNES, 1995)

Bio: Poo may have only stared in one game in Nintendo's long and bizarre history, but that game was EarthBound. EARTH. BOUND. The 1995 cult classic features four youngsters who are on a mission to save the world from the impending doom that is Giygas. One of these youngsters is, the unusually titled, Poo. Known as the Crown Prince of Dalaam, Poo is a master of physical combat and the only main character who is able to wield a legitimate sword. He is also a very dedicated friend and warrior, a truly noble little ninja.

Plan of Attack: Though Poo is a master of hand-to-hand combat he has the ability to preform psychic attacks as well. Much like Ness, he can zap foes with mental blasts such as PSI Thunder, PSI Starstorm, and PSI Freeze. Not only that, Poo can also teleport and produce shields with his mental prowess. As stated above, Poo can wield a rare blade known simply as the Sword of Kings. This sword is very rare and can do some serious damage when equipped. With martial arts, energy blasting and a wicked sword at his disposal Poo is basically Trunks from Dragon Ball Z. I could see him being a very formidable fighter in the world of Smash Brothers.

Odds of Being Added: You might think that only appearing in one game would make Poo an unworthy choice, but Ness is in the same boat and he's been around since the original Smash for N64. Even though Lucas, another EarthBound (Mother 3) character is one of my favorites I'd rather see Poo take his place. Will it happen? I'm gonna say... yes! Hurray for optimism!
