The 2013 Speakys: Round One

Hello fellow gamers. Welcome to the first round of The 2013 Speakys - the only Kotaku award show run by readers, voted on by readers and announced by readers. This is (amazingly) the third year I've had the honor of hosting The Speakys, and I'm hoping for our best turn out yet. But didn't Kotaku already have a readers-choice GOTY? Yes, they did. But my system is different and more detailed, so I'm doing it anyway!

How the Voting Works:

In the first round everyone votes for their favorite console exclusive and multiplatform title of the year, as well as the most underrated game and the game with the best original soundtrack. After the voting ends (with is usually after a week) I will announce the winner and runner up in each category. All winners and runners up are grouped together for the official GOTY vote, which is Round Two.

So vote away!

FAQ:

Why are the awards called "The Speakys"?

When these awards first began in 2011 I started them in the Kotaku forum known as Speak Up. Unfortunately the Speak Up was merged with the TAY in the spring of 2013 and no longer exists. But it's spirit lives on in The Speakys!

What games have won in the past?

2011 - GOTY: Skyrim, Runner-Up: Portal 2

2012 - GOTY: Borderlands 2, Runner-Up: The Walking Dead

Shouldn't it be The 2014 Speakys, as it is now 2014?

Nope. Since it's all about honoring games from 2013, we're sticking with that year.

You forgot to put my favorite game on the list. Why do you hate me?

I didn't mean to forget your favorite game. I scoured the internet for exclusives and multiplatform titles, but I may have missed a few. Also, you can just write in any game. So quit whining and do that.

Why isn't there a list to choose from for Most Underrated and Best Original Soundtrack?

These two categories are so subjective that a list would have been a mile long and I would have gotten many complaints for leaving off titles people felt should be recommended.

Can I just write in a bunch of joke answers or games that didn't come out in 2013?

Please don't do that. You can, but you shouldn't. Though I'm sure some people will...
