I am stupidly obsessed with Rune Factory 4. I bought it on a whim with a gift card, without knowing too much about it and never having played a previous RF or Harvest Moon game. I'm so into it, though, probably moreso than Animal Crossing. I like that it doesn't take itself too seriously. It knows it's full of silly anime tropes. It's the perfect game to carry around with me, because some tasks don't take very long. It's also nice to take a break from the main story to give myself little goals: catch a tuna, forge awesome dual blades, make curry rice, etc. And most importantly of course, woo my horse-wolf-man friend.
What games have pleasantly surprised you? Talk about this or anything else but the super bowl!*
*ugh, whatever, talk about that too
