So Dams asked me to cover to OF today, and because of what day it is, instead of the old draft I have saved for days like this (or for when people forget to post an OF) I leave you with something special.

Today is a bittersweet day. For those of you who don't know, I have been on a six-month work co-op for my school as part of my education. Starting back in January at the beginning of the spring semester through to the end of the first summer semester. That time has come; today is my final day here.

Over the past six months I have been working with some pretty awesome people (and making all these LinkedIn connections) and I have been learning so much more than I would have in a classroom. Working a real, paid job from 9-5 has been quite the experience. The best part for me was only having to work for those 8 hours and then I was done for the day, no tests to study for, no homework to do, and free weekends every week. However the downside is not having that much free time.

It will be sad to say goodbye to my co-workers, but I am looking forward to the rest of my summer. I will be taking a class but comparatively, I will have so much more free time than I do now. I can't wait to relax, sleep in, and get in some quality game time. My backlog has been building up these past six months and I'm reading to dive in and complete some games that have been feeling neglected.

The last six months have also been a personal journey for me outside of learning what it's like to work a real job. The break from classes has helped me to greatly reduce my stress levels and recover from my anxiety and depression issues. But this is not even the best part. The days were long, with huge gaps of time where I didn't have much to do. Social media sites were blocked so I couldn't waste my time away on Facebook.

I turned to Kotaku, a site I casually followed on Facebook, which I found was not blocked at work so I started spending a great deal of time there. I moved from casual follower, to lurker, to occasional commentor, and then I found TAY. Yes, the best thing to come out of my co-op was you TAY. Without my co-op I would not have found all you wonderful people and without you all I would not have made it through my co-op without dying of boredom. You guys are the best :)

Now enough of my rambling. This is the Open Forum and you need some topics! What do you have planned for the summer? Have you ever had a job where you learned more than you ever could in a classroom?
