Word of the Day: Whimsical

Good evening and welcome to Word of the Day! A journey through the English vocabulary and the words that piqued my interest, in WotD we'll be learning a new word for each working day of the week, bar holidays, unless there's a holiday special...

Today's word is:

whimsical

|ˈ(h)wimzikəl|

adjective

  • Playfully quaint or fanciful, esp. in an appealing and amusing way : a whimsical sense of humor.
  • Acting or behaving in a capricious manner : the whimsical arbitrariness of autocracy.

ORIGIN: early 17th cent. (in the sense [caprice] ): probably based on whim-wham.

Or the word I wanted to use to describe Kirby Triple Deluxe soundtrack, only to realize I'had used it on my Yoshi's New Island review a few months ago >.< so I opted to use magical instead :P
