World Cup Bookies Club. Day 3

Day 2 is over! And what a match between the Spaniards and the Dutch. Robin van Persie the Flying Dutchman indeed! Best goal of the Tournament and we we're still in the group stage! On the other match of Group B the Aussies fought against Chile and almost... almost got a point from a game the Andeans should have finished in the first thirty minutes.

But today! WOOF! Four matches... four matches! At lunch time: a defensive (and aging) Greece faces the dark horses of S. America, Colombia, followed by a couple of matches from the (other) Group of Death. First is the Uruguay of Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani, against the Ticos, but will Suarez play a role in this match? Or will Tabarez refrain of saving him for the match against England? Later in the day we have the battle of the Amazonas, as the Three Lions take on Gli Azzurri, a physical battle in the worst place in Brazil, many will fall, but who will be victorious? And last but not least, the Blue Samurais take on Les Éléphantes, in a thrilling match where an energetic Japan team will try to control the forces of Didier Drogba & Co..

Matches for today:

  • 12:00 PM EST: Colombia vs Greece @ Estádio Mineirão, Belo Horizonte

My Prediction:

Colombia 3 - 0 Greece

  • 3:00 PM EST: Uruguay vs Costa Rica @ Estádio Castelão, Fortaleza.

My prediction:

Uruguay 2 - 1 Costa Rica

  • 6:00 PM EST: England vs Italy @ Arena Amazônia, Manaus.

My prediction:

England 1 - 0 Italy

  • 9:00 PM EST: Japan vs Côte d'Ivoire @ Arena Pernambuco, Recife.

My prediction:

Japan 2 - 1 Côte d'Ivoire

To make things a bit more interesting... a point will be awarded to those who get the results right and two extra points for each correct scoreline. Feeling lucky? Then make a bold prediction and win an extra point for each one you get right, like saying John Terry somehow makes the England squad! or Suarez plays for La Celeste and bite the hand of his coach.

So TAY what are your predictions for today's matches?

I took the liberty to create a spreadsheet (still on the early stages) to make it easier to keep track of our records... anyway, if you want to access it, just click here.
