World Cup Bookies Club. Day 5 USA! USA!

With Day 4 gone and honestly no surprises in yesterday's scorelines (seriously Argentina you couldn't score more than one goal?!) we look forward to the fifth day of the World Cup.

We start the day with another heavy weight battle, as Die Adler (The Eagles) engage Cristiano Ronaldo and ten other Portuguese players. Should be a thrilling match but can Germany really win it without any strikers in their line up or will they falter to the strength of "not-110%" Ronaldo?

World Cup Bookies Club. Day 5 USA! USA!

Also on group G, it's Team USA against the Black Stars of Ghana! Herr Klinsmann created an exquisite group of player who actually work in unison (unlike Argentina), but will the omission of America's favorite hero, Landon Donovan, bite die Golden Bomber's hinterteil?

In between these two matches, we have a team who had a disastrous pre-world cup campaign, shrinkage and financial problems, and no, we are not talking about Nigeria. The Iranian team commanded by Carlos Queiroz, has gone through some serious setbacks and they have not even played their first game! Is it a premature game over for the Persian Stars?

Matches for today:

  • 12:00 PM EST: Germany vs Portugal @ Arena Fonte Nova, Salvador.

My Prediction:

Germany 2 - 2 Portugal

  • 3:00 PM EST: Iran vs Nigeria @ Arena da Baixada, Curitiba.

My prediction:

Iran 0 - 2 Nigeria

  • 6:00 PM EST: Ghana vs TEAM USA! @ Estádio das Dunas, Natal.

My prediction:

Ghana 1 - 2 USA

To make things a bit more interesting... a point will be awarded to those who get the results right and two extra points for each correct scoreline. Feeling lucky? Then make a bold prediction and win an extra point for each one you get right, like Jurgen Klinsmann naming himself as the Striker for USA, and making a surprise apperance next to Miroslav Klose for Germany. Or what about Cristiano Ronaldo not being a crybaby for once...

So TAY what are your predictions for today's matches?
